1. GENERAL PROVISIONS

The Premiseses of regeneration of the Cossacks on the territory of modern Ukraine are the same, as the premiseses of rebirth of an independent state. The difference lies in the following: the idea of independence was formed among the circle of ideologues of the high echelon of the former USSR, but the idea of regeneration of the Cossacks belongs to the representatives of widenrange of the population of the country and appeared in the first half of the last decade of the last century.

It should be noted that regeneration of the Cossacks began earlier than the rebirth of the independent Ukraine and passed through a very contradictory way of its establishing and shaping into public associations of all the levels, inheritting traditions and customs of their own predecessor.
