Griniv Vasili Mikhailovich was born on October 13 1941 in the village of Dovgaia-Kaluzhka of Kalushcki district, Ivano-Frankovsk region. In 1949 he went to the first grade of the initial school in v. Dovgaia-Kaluzhka, Kalushski district. Later he went to the school of Tuzhiliv, and then to a secondary school of Poilo, Kalushski district, where he finished his 7th year. From 1958 till 1960 he studied in a Golinski secondary school, where he received secondary education.
He received his higher education at the department of law of the Lvov State University after I.Franko. From October of 1960 till November of 1963 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army. After the service in the army he worked as a district inspector of the Kalushski district department of militia of the Ministry of Social Order Protection. He left the service at his own will.
From March of 1965 till July of 1971 he worked as a packer, as a machine driver of refrigerators, as a plumber for equipment repair, as a machine operative of crystallization department of Kalushski Chemistry metallurgical plant.
From August till October of 1968 he took part in military activities on the territory of Czechoslovakia. After the events he continued to serve in the army(till November of 1970) in the rank of a chief of apparatus military equipment of the commanding post of Minsk frontier troops.
In July of 1971 he worked as head of initial military training at Kalushski school N1, where he worked till August of 1975.
From September of 1975 till January of 1976 he worked as a law consultant of Kalushski brewing factory. From this post he was transferred to the post of an instructor of Kalushski city executive committee, where he worked toll April of 1979.
From May of 1979 till January of 2000 he occupied different posts ( including leading ones) of organs of Office of Public Prosecutor of Ternopol and Ivano-Frankovsk regions.
In February of 2000 he was retired from the Office of Public Prosecutor for long service.
Since December of 2005 he has been a member of the All-Ukrainian Party of Spirituality and Patriotism, head of the regional organization of this party. He is Ataman of Ivano-Frankovsk regional Cossack organization "Ukrainian Registered Cossacks"
He is married. His wife is Griniv Hadezgda Ivanovha, born in 1947, his son is Giniv Oleg Vasilievich, born in 1967, his daughter is Giniv Tatyana Vasilievna, born in 1970.
He has never been elected. No previous convictions. He lives on the territory of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankovsk. He is a citizen of Ukraine.
